Minister of Educaiton and Science L.Enkh-Amgalan had a meeting with Kaori Ishikawa, Head of Office for Mongolia Country Office of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). UNFPA has jointly implemented and provided support for numerous projects and programs in Mongolia.
At the meeting, Minister L.Enkh-Amgalan said that a project on sanitary facilities at rural schools, kindergartens, and dormitories kicked off. As part of the project to be completed in 2023, around 300 sanitary facilities will be upgraded this year.
The improvement of school lunch program and opportunities for cooperation in special needs education were also discussed at the meeting. Over 7 thousand of 11 thousand children with disabilities in the country attend schools and kindergartens. 1,720 of them attend special educational institutions. The sides agreed to make joint efforts to improve the education access for 2,900 children with disabilities and work closely with their parents in doing so.
