Minister of Education L. Enkh-Amgalan met with a delegation of members of the Japanese Parliament to exchange views on bilateral cooperation in education and human resource development.
During the meeting, Minister L. Enkh-Amgalan highlighted the successful implementation of programmes and projects under the long-standing strategic partnership between Mongolia and Japan and expressed appreciation for Japan’s continued support for cooperation in the education sector.
Mongolia began introducing Japan’s KOSEN education system in 2014, and three KOSEN colleges are currently operating in the country. The colleges have made an important contribution to developing skilled engineers and technical professionals, with around 700 graduates to date.
In line with Mongolia’s regional development policy, the Minister also expressed interest in working with Japan to expand the KOSEN college network to rural areas and strengthen human resources in engineering and technical fields.
The Japanese parliamentary delegation highlighted the two countries’ extensive and successful experience in human resource development and noted the broad potential for further cooperation in education, particularly in vocational and technical education.
