- Academic Exchange & Joint Programs: Both sides discussed expanding student and faculty exchanges, developing joint and dual-degree programs, and offering short-term courses, summer programs, and online initiatives between Mongolian universities and the University of Nevada.
- Specialized Fields & Capacity Building: Drawing on the University of Nevada’s expertise in mining engineering, environmental science, water resources, and entrepreneurship, the delegates expressed interest in bolstering curriculum quality, strengthening teaching capacity, and training specialists in mining and engineering.
- Joint Research & Triple Helix Model: The discussion highlighted collaborative research on water resources, climate change, and sustainable development. Both parties emphasized integrating research outputs into policy and industry while strengthening University-Government-Industry partnerships to foster innovation and startups.
- Field Research Track Record: University of Nevada Professor Sudeep Chandra presented his 25-year history of conducting aquatic ecology research in Mongolia. His ongoing collaboration with the National University of Mongolia has enabled cross-border field research, serving as a model for institutional cooperation.
The Ministry of Education highlighted its focus on upgrading higher education governance, teaching practices, and research capacity aligned with national economic needs. Both parties concluded by reaffirming their commitment to advance these initiatives into concrete agreements.
