
A total of 357 Mongolian students have been selected for the Chinese Government Scholarship and the Government Scholarship of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region this year and have received their admission letters to study at leading universities in China.
More than 5,000 Mongolian students applied for the scholarships this year, with 357 students ultimately selected, including:
- 25 students for doctoral programs;
- More than 70 students for master’s programs; and
- More than 260 students for bachelor’s degree programs.

China began accepting Mongolian students under its government scholarship program in 1986. Over the past 40 years, a total of 10,788 students from Mongolia have received Chinese government scholarships on a cumulative basis.
Meanwhile, the Government Scholarship of the Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region was launched in 2005. Over the past 21 years, more than 2,500 Mongolian students have benefited from the scholarship program.
Addressing the scholarship recipients, Minister of Education L. Enkh-Amgalan encouraged the students to return home with not only strong academic knowledge, but also a broad range of skills, including expertise in innovation and technology.
He wished the students continued academic and professional success in their studies and future careers.
