MEETING HELD WITH ASIAN DEVELOPMENT BANK REPRESENTATIVES TO DISCUSS JOINT PROJECTS AND PROGRAMS

The Ministry of Education held a meeting with the Resident Representative of the Asian Development Bank (ADB) in Mongolia to exchange views on the progress and implementation of joint projects and programs.

Currently, three ADB-funded projects are underway in the education sector. Under the project aimed at "Improving the Quality and Accessibility of Education During Economic Hardship," 7 schools and 14 kindergartens have been commissioned.

Construction for 3 schools and 6 kindergartens is currently in progress, with ongoing efforts to provide necessary furniture and equipment. The main project has increased educational capacity by 3,400 school seats and 2,325 kindergarten spaces. Once the initial phase is fully completed, it will add an additional 960 school seats and 940 kindergarten spaces.

Approved by the Parliament in 2025, preparations for the construction and expansion of schools and kindergartens under this phase are currently underway.

The Ministry and the ADB plan to collaborate on improving the digital task bank system, developing e-textbooks, and advancing the Education Management Information System (EMIS).

The following ADB-supported grant projects are scheduled to begin implementation this year:

  • Projects to establish advanced science and technology laboratories and virtual classrooms.
  • An initiative designed to strengthen prevention and response services for gender-based violence in boarding schools, covering both the capital and regional areas, as well as schools located in ger districts.
