The Ministry of Education held a virtual meeting with Deeps De Silva, Director of Asia-Pacific Partnerships at OpenAI.
During the meeting, the two sides exchanged information regarding OpenAI's educational products, including "ChatGPT Edu," and explored potential avenues for cooperation.
OpenAI has recently launched the "Education for Countries" initiative, designed to collaborate with national governments in integrating artificial intelligence into the education sector. The initiative aims to support educational systems through AI-based solutions, training to strengthen teacher capacity, and support for research and evaluation.
The Ministry highlighted its ongoing efforts to integrate artificial intelligence and digital tools into Mongolia's educational infrastructure, which include:
- 1 Child - 1 AI Assistant: A program providing personalized AI support to every student.
- 1 Teacher - 1 AI Assistant: An initiative aimed at reducing administrative workload and enhancing pedagogical efficiency.
- "One Student – One Computer, One Classroom – One Smart Board" Program: Equipping students with the necessary hardware and classrooms with interactive technology.
The Ministry expressed its readiness to collaborate with OpenAI and join the "Education for Countries" initiative to ensure the safe, efficient, and responsible adoption of AI in education.
